7 Hours and counting...
In approximately 7 hours I will be flying out of freezing Melbourne en-route to sunny Italy where I will be for close to a month!! During my roaming, travels of Italy, I will be sharing everything with you, right here through my Blog - Roamin' Italy.
My journey will begin in Rome (of course- the amazing capital of Italy) where I will join a tour which will aid my roaming capabilities. It will take me down the Amalfi Coast to Sorrento, back up to Assisi, Venice, Milan, Lake Maggiorie, Pisa, Florence and then finally back to Rome. I will head back to Florence to experience Italian life for a week and then I will go back to where it all began, Rome.
I hope to share as much as I can as often as I can (hopefully everyday!). This is my first EVER travel blog, so please forgive my rambling, craziness and constant 'word-inventing'. I hope you enjoy reading about my adventures as much as I will enjoy writing them! Here goes...
I'm finally packed! It only took me 3 days, two unpack-repack episodes, a melt down and a set of scales, but I am packed and ready to go.... You know what it's like when you're going away for an extended period of time. You never know what you might need and when you will get time to do your washing. It's so hard to stick to the baggage allowances (my tour is only allowing 23Kg!). Although I have never been someone who packs lightly for anything (I'm that person who bring a full 20kg suitcase for just a weekend trip), I think I have actually accomplished the impossible! A suitcase that is half full and weighs less than 15Kg! Gasp! Holding for applause.....
I know, I know. To some of you, this is still WAY too much to take and you will tell me that surely I don't need that fourth pair of shorts, or that third white singlet, but HEY! Listen! What if both my other white singlet tops have been worn, the only top I have to wear is my CK navy sheer top, which ONLY goes with THAT FOURTH PAIR OF SHORTS????!!! Exactly. You see the dilemma. If you don't then you clearly have a stronger will than I do.
Anyway, in about 3 hours I will head off to the airport, proudly wheeling my lighter than normal suitcase, for baggage drop and the fun waiting around the airport in the middle of the night, prior to boarding and departing! I think I'm actually starting to get excited now...
